Great Reading

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

Early in my journey of discovering what had happened to my brain and body from the toxic poisoning I discovered this treasure! I know it was a gift from God to me. It answered so many questions about how the brain functions and what I could do to help myself on my journey back to health. ~ Tamara

Switch on Your Brain by Dr. Caroline Leaf

What we eat is the connecting piece to so much of what we experience in body and soul. This book is a must read for understanding the connection between food, health and how you think. ~ Tamara

Think and Eat Yourself Smart by Dr. Caroline Leaf

In this revolutionary book, Dr. Caroline Leaf packs an incredible amount of information that will change readers’ eating and thinking habits for the better. Rather than getting caught up in whether we should go raw or vegan, gluten-free or paleo, Leaf shows readers that every individual is unique, has unique nutritional needs, and has the power to impact their own health through the right thinking. There’s no one perfect solution. Rather, she shows us how to change the way we think about food and put ourselves on the path towards health.

We picked up this book a few years ago at a conference where Harold Eberle was a speaker. I didn’t actually read it until after I entered the waste land of toxic poisoning in early 2017 and I am so glad I did!!! This is a simple, quick read but one of the best books on explaining grace that I have ever read! ~ Tamara

Grace: the Power to Reign by Harold Eberle

For anyone who ever has clenched his fist and ground his teeth in the struggle to live godly, here are the answers. Just as there is a force in the world pushing us to sin, there is a greater force flowing from God which can lift us, transform us, and make us what He wants us to be. It is grace!

Bill Johnson is a prolific author and a great read at any time. This particular book presents the way we are to live in the Kingdom of God as His child all the time. I have pondered the truth found in this book and lived it out now for the past couple of years, it is a life-changer for sure! ~ Tamara

Hosting the Presence by Bill Johnson

Are you hungry for an encounter with Jesus? Do you want to make an impact on the world?  In this power-packed book, Bill Johnson discusses how you can be a person who hosts the Presence of God. Though all believers obviously have the Spirit of God within them, there is more that enables you to be so full that you overflow His Spirit into your world. You will discover: How to pay attention to the Holy Spirit and respond to Him; How the Holy Spirit manifests Himself; Biblical figures who were hungry for more of God’s Spirit and learned to host Him; Stories of Presence-filled revivalists and personal encounters with the Presence!

No list is complete without a good book about the life of Christ. This blending of the first four books of the New Testament walks the life of Jesus chronologically and is on my “read every year” list. I have learned more about my best-friend, Jesus, by reading this book than reading the standard Bible. ~ Tamara

The Greatest Story

Every detail of all four Gospels is combined into one single, flowing narrative written in readable, contemporary English. This book powerfully demonstrates how each of the four gospels divinely complement each other, and helps readers encounter the greatest story ever told, as never before.
